Linux 2.6.362010-10-21

Hildesheim, Germany - The Linux Kernel 2.6.36 was just released by Linus Torvalds. The Pengutronix kernel team has contributed 148 patches, changing 7819 lines of code this time. Furthermore, 31 tags were given to ensure Q&A of the kernel.

Our major contributions for 2.6.36 were:

  • CAN: Add support for the FLEXCAN controller on MX25 and MX35
  • I2C: Make i.MX driver more robust against signals, Bugfixes
  • MAX730x: Make pullups configurable
  • NAND: Bugfix on i.MX, fixes in v2 and support for v3 for MX51, support 8bit ECC on i.MX, fix OOB access on MX27
  • USB: ULPI fixes on i.MX
  • Audio: SSI bugfixes
  • Build Fix: MMC Power Management Notifier
  • MC13783 PMIC: Cleanup
  • Various Section mismatch fixes
  • Various Sparse fixes
  • Cleanup, compile fixes & overall bugfixing
  • i.MX: Cleanup & reorganisation, consolidation of MX1 + MX2 into mach-imx
  • Video: MT9M111 colorspace and crop handling fixes, fix edge handling on mx2 camera, EMMA fixes on MX2
  • IDE: procfs registry ordering fixes
  • IPU Graphics: clock fixes on MX35
  • Clock fixes on MX35
  • Input: Support for STMPE touch controller, add clustered IRQ support for matrix keypads
  • PCA100: Clean up GPIO multiplexing, add framebuffer device support
  • Network: Fix software reset on i.MX FEC
  • MPC5200: Phy code cleanup
