Known issues for all OSELAS.BSP-Phytec-phyCORE-MPC5200B-tiny releases

OSELAS.BSP-Phytec-phyCORE-MPC5200B-tiny-5
Issue: The system clock drifts away (a few seconds per minute).
Description: u-boot-1.2.0-mpc5200b-tiny-1 reports a wrong base crystal frequency to the kernel.
Solution: Update Uboot to version u-boot-1.2.0-mpc5200b-tiny-2. See BSP download area.

OSELAS.BSP-Phytec-phyCORE-MPC5200B-tiny-6
Issue: This BSP release only supports CPU card revision PCM-030-02REI (rev. 1245.2) with basebaord PCM-973-tiny (rev. 1260.1).
Description: BSP does not work as expected when used on older CPU (1245.1) and baseboard (PCM-997) revisions.
Solution: For older hardware still use the -5 release. See BSP download area.

Issue: JFFS2 may issues various error messages.
    Description: Unknown yet.
    Solution: Nothing yet.

Issue: Its not possible to build host tools withing the BSP.
Description: Quickstart instructs the wrong cross toolchain path on page 10 (section 2.1).
Solution: The correct path must be /opt/OSELAS.Toolchain-1.1.1/powerpc-603e-linux-gnu/gcc-4.1.2-glibc-2.5-kernel-2.6.18/bin.

Issue: This BSP is prepared to support AC97 AUDIO, but this feature is disabled, as it didn't work when we released it.
Description: AC97 audio support was broken due to wrong PSC unit usage.
Solution: Apply this patch to a clean OSELAS.BSP-Phytec-phyCORE-MPC5200B-tiny-6 BSP and continue to build it in the regular way.
Note: The AC97 mixer needs a hardware patch to make it wake it up from power down mode. Download here the instruction how to do so.

Issue: Quickstart mentions to setup Uboot's prompt string when running "ptxdist boardsetup". But this menu entry does not exist.
Description: Updated boardsetup menu, but forgotten to update the quickstart text.
Solution: Ignore this note in the quickstart. Uboot's prompt is hardcoded in the test scripts, so no further intervention is needed.

Issue: Quickstart mentions to run a boot test with "ptxdist test boot", but it fails with this message:
ERROR: uboot prompt not set, exit now.
Description: The boardsetup menu changed, but the boot test script hasn't been adapted.
Solution: Omit this test step. Its a simple test if the flash partitions have been setup correctly and if target boots into the login prompt. This can be done also manually. Just start your target and see what happens.

Issue: Booting target from flash fails, while booting from network works as expected.
Description: Some Tiny boards are shipped with 32MiB flash instead of the regular 16MiB. The flash partition layout and flash offsets this BSP sets up are working on a 16MiB flash only.
Solution: One solution could be to manually add a 16MiB partition in front of all others and then using the mtdblock3 instead of mtdblock2 for the root filesystem. Note: For the 32MiB flash you can't use the automatic setup features of this BSP to get a working system.

  Refer BSP's protocols/known-issues.txt.

Issue: MPC5200's interal OHCI does not work anymore if a more recent kernel than 2.6.23 is in use.
Description: The last kernel that fixes hardware settings in the OHCI registers was 2.6.23. More recent kernels expect this to be done in the boot loader.
Solution: Pengutronix will provide a fixed U-Boot for this platform soon. For the impatience: The following U-Boot commands will fix it:
uboot> mm 0xf0000210
f0000210: 00000000 ? 0x1bbbb
